When Michael and Katrina said we'd be holding our first Exnihilo workshop in "the Bethel house", Bryan and I had little idea about the historical connections. When Michael approached Nicolette Bethel about our workshop, she knew and understood the connections and was pretty open to the idea of having a creative arts workshop at the house.

Her late father E. Clement Bethel was the first Director of Culture for The Bahamas and her mother Keva Bethel was the first president of the College of the Bahamas. They were both lovers of the Arts. Many in attendance knew the Bethels and understood the significance of having this first workshop in this historic residence.

In the video, Michael talks about his personal connection to the Bethels, the house, and the significance of hosting our first workshop in this particular location.
