Always more than planned
The month of April took Bryan and I back down to the islands for a whirlwind trip with the promise of meeting a few key people in the arts of The Bahamas.
We got more than we bargained for.
Transforming Spaces is a registered non-profit organization committed to the development of the visual arts culture in The Bahamas. The organization has successfully operated the annual island-wide art bus tour held in Nassau since 2004 showcasing the best in contemporary Bahamian visual art.
Though participating galleries 'transform' year to year, the desire to bring Bahamian art to the forefront by challenging artists to think and create in innovative ways, remains the same. In addition, Transforming Spaces fosters connections and collaborations with regional and diasporic artists and curators to spotlight contemporary art practices.
