SilverWorks is the studio of artist-in-residence, Blair Anderson. Located in historic Glen Echo. MD just outside Washington, DC, SilverWorks teaches classes and workshops in silversmithing and other metals disciplines. SilverWorks has hosted several Exnihilo artists in residence.

We had a fantastic day here in Nassau giving our first international workshop for Exnihilo. The class filled up and many wonderful things were created by the workshoppers.
Exnihilo hosted its first workshop in Nassau this Sunday, March 20. I transplanted my Silver Saturday from SilverWorks and presented it to a full class of new students.

Bryan and I attended the unveiling of Wendy Ross' newest work "Flora" in Baltimore's Hopkins Plaza. I was fortunate to get to know Wendy when she took one of my classes at SilverWorks.
Attended a WPA (Washington Project for the Arts) meeting at American University last night. The panel discussion was about artist residencies programs.
My little silversmithing studio continues to surprise me. Adding this little stepping stone in the journey toward Exnihilo, who would have thought that it would contribute so much to the plan. And I never would have imagined the growth.
Best laid plans can sometime seem like they have gone awry when direction shifts due to outside circumstances (like the economy). But sometimes this is actually an opportunity in disguise.
